Inaccurate Shipping Estimates
Shopify’s standard shipping setup wasn’t equipped to properly calculate rates for large, heavy and/or irregularly shaped products. Rates were often based solely on weight, which created major discrepancies for products with large volume but lower mass. Especially with cubic (m2) carriers that calculate shipping based on the cubic weight.
Manual Rate Comparisons
Internally, staff had to manually compare rates across multiple carriers to determine the best option. This process was time-consuming, error-prone, and slowed down order processing.

The integration automatically determines whether a product should be rated by actual weight (kg) or cubic volume (m³), depending on which is more cost-effective for the shipment. - Multi-Carrier Optimization
The service calculates shipping rates based on multiple carriers and their unique requirements (tax, fuel levies, location, sensitivity or fragility of the product) and compares them to determine the best rate for the specific package dimensions, weight, and destination. It would also generate the best rate with secondary and tertiary carriers should the best carrier not deliver to the customer’s specific location to ensure the best experience for the customer. - Dynamic Checkout Experience
